Fred Allen's
battle with 'Stop The Music' and its effect on the number of folks listening to his show were visible enough to make the
New York Times
.

Before that show arrived on a rival network he had had the longest running Comedy Show on Radio, with a solid rating position, but that show basically is credited with his retirement a year later than this one, in 1949, never to host a show again (though acting as a guest on many other shows).

Donna Jean Godchaux, singer with the Grateful Dead (1972-1979)

Her run with the group included the Grateful Dead studio records
Wake of the Flood (1973), From the Mars Hotel (1974), Blues for Allah (1975), Terrapin Station (1977) and Shakedown Street (1978).

Godchaux and her husband Keith Godchaux also made the 1975 album, Keith & Donna, which featured Grateful Dead bandmate Jerry Garcia. The duo also appeared on Garcia's solo albums during this time. (Keith passed away in 1980 after an auto accident).
